The world’s premier classical Chinese dance company is heading back to Denver for a grand celebration of its mission to unveil long-lost culture, history, and tradition. SHEN YUN PERFORMING ARTS is bound to reveal CHINA BEFORE COMMUNISM — tales of forgotten cultural marvels that the word is yet to see. Since 2006, the dance company’s performances have transformed into cultural movements that seek to make great Chinese history known in the modern day and age. Despite attempts of various authorities to silence their shows, Shen Yun prevails — generating massive impact around the globe.
Packed with stories, legends, vibrant costumes, classical music, and so forth that make up an astounding spectacle, Shen Yun is driven by its people who share the same purpose of making real Chinese history known. Many of its artists have escaped ongoing prosecution in China, and they’re making their voices heard through the art form of dance. Words only go so far, but dance can generate impact that leaves a mark in one’s heart and mind. With 5,000 years of civilization almost lost, Shen Yun tells the tale of “The Land of the Divine” where Music, medicine, calligraphy, clothing, language, and much more have emerged in ancient days.
In 2006, classical Chinese artists came together in New York to revive traditional and divine culture, sharing all of this with the world. Though some authorities see their acts as a threat, the company stands their ground in making these tales known.
“Some people might wonder if the story we portray on stage is actually true. But what we depicted on stage is exactly what happened to me,” Shen Yun dancer Jiheng Zhao said.
