About Sesame Street

The American children's television series first aired in 1969, born out of Joan Ganz Cooney and Lloyd Morrisett's idea of a children's show that "master the addictive qualities of television and do something good with them." Combining great visuals, humor, music, and educational themes in between, the show has piqued the minds of several generations who grew up with its beloved characters. 

By 1970, the show had won twenty awards, including a Peabody Award, three Emmys, a Prix Jeunesse, and many more. Since then, they've won the hearts of kids and parents who tuned in to the wonderful world of Sesame Street.
