It’s a revolution — and they’re dancing their way through centuries of long-lost culture & history. SHEN YUN PERFORMING ARTS is back for another round of unraveling unseen China LIVE ON STAGE. With new songs, dance numbers, and visual feasts every single year, their performances since 2006 have gotten bigger and bigger. Straight out of New York with a cast that comes from all over the world, they pack REAL stories of struggle and oppression. Now, all these tales come to life through a wonderful depiction of how communism drastically changed the nation.

On a mission to revive lost Chinese culture and make this known around the globe, Shen Yun chose dance as their primary medium. Gracefully performing traditional Chinese dances to songs that form a tale, it’s an art form that can speak louder than words. It’s more than just a show, Shen Yun is a movement. A universal language so expressive, their dances are able to generate conversation and cultural resurgence. Though some authorities see their acts as a threat, they stand their ground in making their stories known.

“Some people might wonder if the story we portray on stage is actually true. But what we depicted on stage is exactly what happened to me,” Shen Yun dancer Jiheng Zhao said.

Amidst a regime at war with religion, tradition, and even its own history, the dance company continues to fight and conquer — on stage. Since their inception in 2006, the Shen Yun community has immensely grown to become the powerful force it is today. A globally-acclaimed cultural reawakening for its larger-than-life depictions of lost history, audiences are always left in awe and wonder of the new knowledge and reflections they’ve gained about Chinese history.

“An explosion of color and sound… Chinese culture in its fullest flower,” Charlotte Observer shared in its review.

As its flowers bloom, you’ll witness world-class artists, a full orchestra, and a blend of western and Chinese instruments that create a wonderful spectacle that generates great impact. “5,000 Years of Civilization Reborn”, Shen Yun continues to break boundaries and challenge the system. Despite forces out there that try to shut them out, thousands of audiences have seen, and will continue to have their eyes opened.

“I believe that all these artistic initiatives are very important to let people know that China is not just a closed country, but that it’s also very wealthy in culture, tradition, and, most importantly, wealthy in spiritual perception,” Jorge Fernandez shared about the show, as cited from a feature by Vision Times.
