The play is based on the novel by Yann Martel. The book would later sell over 10 million copies and would later be adapted into a major feature film. In 2019, the novel was adapted into a play by playwright Lolita Chakrabarti. The production began in Sheffield, England and later opened in London’s West End in 2021. The play has been hailed as one of the most visually stunning theater masterpieces to come out in the last few years. Life of Pi brings an incredibly stunning set design with ingenious puppetry and costumes.
